Cookies and browser storage / 2026
COOKIE SETTINGS
Reading the guides does not require an account. The supplied website code includes no optional analytics or advertising technologies.
Cookies and localStorage are different
Cookies are small values a browser can send with web requests. localStorage keeps values in a browser for a particular website and does not automatically send them with each request. Both can be relevant to privacy and electronic communications rules.
The supplied scripts do not set cookies. They use localStorage only when you save a preference below. Hosting or subsequently added services may have their own behaviour; this page describes the functionality included with this resource.
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| showpebblewhirl-cookie-preference | Remembers “essential” or “accepted” in this browser | Until you clear it, clear site data or the browser removes it |
Your local preference
Both choices leave the current site free of optional tracking. “Accept” records permission only; it does not load analytics or advertising, because none are included. A future new purpose would require a clear explanation and any necessary fresh choice.
Checking this browser’s saved preference…
What is not stored
The contact worksheet does not save draft names, email addresses or message text in localStorage. Its draft exists in the current page’s memory. Copied text and downloaded files are separate copies under your control. See the privacy notice for more detail.
Managing your browser
You can remove this preference using “Clear preference” or your browser’s site-data controls. Preferences are specific to this browser and device; they do not automatically follow you elsewhere. Private browsing, storage restrictions and browser cleanup may prevent or remove a saved choice.
External services linked from the guides apply their own cookie and privacy policies when you visit them. This website does not embed their videos or load their scripts as part of the supplied pages.
